The laboratory is devoted to make participants familiar to the law and economics approach. Law and economics is an interdisciplinary field that analyzes legal systems using economic principles. It explores how legal rules impact economic behavior and how economic theory can inform legal decision-making. This field examines the efficiency and outcomes of various laws and legal institutions. It uses concepts like incentives, costs, and benefits to understand legal processes and their effects on society. Law and economics can be applied to various areas such as property rights, contracts, and criminal law. It aims to improve legal policies by highlighting their economic implications and promoting effective regulation.

The laboratory offers students hands-on experience in applying economic theories to legal issues. They develop analytical skills to evaluate the efficiency and impact of laws. Students gain a deeper understanding of the interplay between legal systems and economic behavior. This interdisciplinary approach enhances their problem-solving abilities and prepares them for careers in law, policy-making, and academia. The outcome is a well-rounded education that equips students to craft more effective and informed legal policies.

The program will deal with an introduction to some standard topic like property and liability and then will face some idyosingratic case like exchange of inalienable goods such as organs, human body, adoption and other cases that following what said by Nobel prize winner Alvin Roth may seem "repugnant" but must be faced by society.

In the sessions of the laboratory, participants will be introduced to the methodology of law and economics. Following this introduction, each participant will be required to prepare an individual presentation on a specific topic, which will be identified in consultation with the lecturer. This will allow participant to apply the concepts learned and develop your analytical skills further.

The participant must attend the course with a lively participation and must do the required presentations.
