Obiettivi formativi

Il corso fornisce le competenze per l'analisi teorica ed applicata delle strategie competitive  e di crescita dell'impresa, a partire dalle caratteristiche di mercato, industriali, tecnologiche ed istituzionali dell'ambiente con il quale l'impresa interagisce.

Il corso farà particolare riferimento alle concezioni dell'impresa, alternative a quelle tradizionali, che considerano l'innovazione e la conoscenza, i network e le collaborazioni strategiche come leve per la crescita e la competitività dell'impresa stessa.

Il corso approfondirà il tema dell'apprendimento e del cambiamento organizzativo.

The course will provide skills and tools for the theoretical and empirical analysis of the features and strategies the firm implements in order to compete and develop, considering the market, industrial, technological and institutional characteristics of the environment with which firms interplays.

The course will focus on those perspectives on the firm, alternative to traditional ones, that consider innovation and knowledge, networks and collaborations as drivers for the growth and competitiveness of the firm.

The course will pay a specific attention to the issues of organizational learning and organizational change.

Conoscenza della terminologia scientifica e capacità di comprensione degli aspetti teorici tipici dell'economia dell'organizzazione, contenuti nei libri di testo e presentati a lezione.

Capacità di applicare conoscenza e comprensione nell'interpretazione di problemi e tematiche empiricamente rilevanti per le imprese e le loro scelte organizzative, in particolare con riferimento ai temi dell'innovazione e del coordinamento delle competenze dell'impresa.

Autonomia di giudizio e conseguente possibilità di sviluppare considerazioni analitiche e ipotesi di ricerca necessarie per investigare autonomamente tematiche teoricamente ed empiricamente rilevanti dell'economia dell'organizzazione.

Abilità comunicative per divulgare in forma scritta e orale i risultati delle analisi condotte, sotto forma per esempio di report, brevi saggi e presentazioni orali.

Capacità di applicare i metodi e gli strumenti acquisiti per aggiornare ed approfondire i contenuti studiati, anche in contesti professionali, e per sviluppare analisi e ricerche successive.



Knowledge of scientific terminology and understanding of the theoretical aspects specific to the economics of organizations, both included in textbooks and presented during lectures.

Applying knowledge and understanding to the interpretation of problems and issues empirically relevant for firms and their organizational choices, with a special emphasis on the coordination of innovative resources and competencies.

Autonomous understanding and consequent possibility of developing analytical considerations and research hypothesis needed to independently investigate issues that are relevant both theoretically and empirically to the economics of organization.

Communication skills to disseminate through written and oral communication the results of the analysis, for example in the form of reports, essays, and public presentations.

Ability to apply the methods and tools acquired to update and investigate the contents studied, even in professional contexts, and to develop further research and analysis.

Modalità di insegnamento



L'insegnamento prevede lezioni frontali con esemplificazione in aula di casi concreti ed esercitazioni con lavori in gruppo.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento

L'apprendimento verrà verificato attraverso modalità scritte e orali. In particolare, sono previste attività di valutazione formativa in itinere, basate su attività di gruppo al fine di stimolare la capacità di interazione e di team work degli studenti, in cui gli studenti lavoreranno su casi concreti, dovranno applicare i modelli e gli strumenti visti a lezione all'analisi di problemi reali delle imprese. L'esame è composto da una prova scritta con 2 domande aperte e 10 a risposta multipla in cui gli studenti dovranno mostrare la capacità di analisi teorica dei problemi presentati durante il corso (60% del voto finale). Infine, a completamento delle attività di verifica, gli studenti dovranno redarre un essay della lunghezza di circa 3000-5000 parole, in cui applicheranno modelli e strumenti teorici all'analisi empirica (sia qualitativa che quantitativa) di un problema specifico dell'economia dell'impresa e dell'industria (40% del voto finale).

L'iscrizione all'esame deve avvenire utilizzando il sistema Esse3 di Ateneo.


Learning will be verified through written and oral modes. In particular, activities are provided for ongoing formative assessment, based on group activities in order to enhance interaction skills and team work, in which students will work on real cases, applying theories and models to the analysis of real-world problems of the firm. Exam is based on a written test (at the end of the course) with open-ended and multiple-choice questions in which students will have to show the ability of theoretical analysis of the problems presented during the course (60% of the final grade). Finally, to complete the verification activities, students will write up an essay of about 3000-5000 words, applying theoretical tools, models and empirical analysis (qualitative and quantitative) of a specific problem of a given firm or industry (40% of the final grade).
