-- knowledge of the stylized facts of Europe’s economic development from the Stone Age on
-- understanding of the use of economic analysis to explain historical change
-- knowledge of the various schools of thought, of their underlying ideology, and of the relations among them

-- the course provides training in the deconstruction of “facts” and interpretations across the entire spectrum of the social sciences
