Obiettivi formativi

knowledge and understanding
-- knowledge of the stylized facts of Europe’s economic development from the Stone Age on
-- understanding of the use of economic analysis to explain historical change
-- knowledge of the various schools of thought, of their underlying ideology, and of the relations among them
applying knowledge and understanding
-- the course provides training in the deconstruction of “facts” and interpretations across the entire spectrum of the social sciences
Making judgements
-- the course develops the capacity to make informed, independent judgements by training the reader/listener to search for, identify, and evaluate the author’s hidden assumptions
Communication skills
-- the course aims to develop the capacity to communicate one’s knowledge and arguments in a coherent and comprehensible manner
Learning skills
The course teaches a sophisticated approach to the social sciences, thus developing the capacity for independent study
